Calling All Future Olympians

Forsyth County Parks & Recreation proudly presents "Future Olympians Fall Track Competition," on Sunday, October 16th at 2 p.m.

This fun-filled, athletic event will take place at the South Forsyth High School stadium, and all Forsyth County kids from kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to team up with their school mates to compete against other schools in determining who wins the coveted title of "2005 Forsyth County Elementary School Track Champions."

Events will include the following:

Kindergarten-2nd Grade

  • 25-meter dash
  • 100-meter run
  • softball throw
  • standing long jump
  • 4 x 50 meter relay

3rd-5th Grade

  • 50-meter dash
  • 200 meter run
  • softball throw
  • standing long jump
  • 4 x 100 meter relay

Free t-shirts will be distributed to the first 500 participants and the entry fee is absolutely free!

Great prizes will be awarded as well:

  • School Team Plaques -- 1st through 3rd place for "most points scored"
  • School Recognition Plaque -- Most participants
  • Individual -- 1st through 3rd place medals, with participation ribbons for all others

Be sure to enter your K-5 students and make your respective elementary school proud. And what a great way to get your kids active and to build team spirit and camaraderie. Who knows? You might just have a future Olympian living in your home!
