ATLANTA (March 8, 2006) – In conjunction with National Nutrition Month®, Chick-fil-A offers advice on how eating out can also mean eating right.

“Providing healthy, nutritious products that meet consumer desires have always driven menu decisions at Chick-fil-A,” said Jodie Worrell, the Chick-fil-A Chain’s Staff Nutritionist. “Eating healthy does not mean having to give up your favorite foods. Through moderation and balanced choices, as well as exercise, you can achieve a healthy lifestyle.”

National Nutrition Month® is a nutrition education and information campaign sponsored annually by the American Dietetic Association. The campaign is designed to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.

“At Chick-fil-A we offer a number of menu items to help you begin or maintain a healthy lifestyle,” continued Worrell. “We have 13 menu items that have 10 grams of fat or less. Our Chick-fil-A® Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich is a prime example with only 270 calories and 3.5 grams of fat per sandwich. Our salads are another low-fat, low-calorie option; for example, our Chick‑fil-A® Chargrilled Chicken Garden Salad has only 180 calories and 6 grams of fat and offers up to 2.5 cups of vegetables.”

Over the next four weeks, Atlanta Daybook will feature tips on healthy options while eating at Chick-fil-A in a special “Did You Know” section. Each week will highlight a new set of nutrition facts about the chain’s well-balanced menu.
