Wanting to support the City of Roswell's efforts to plant more trees throughout the city, the Roswell Junior Woman's Club (RJWC) is donating $400 to the City's Tree Planting Partnership program. Under the program, the City will match the donation and the RJWC will be partnered with a local non-profit that needs additional funds to complete a tree planting project.

Roswell Junior Woman's Club President Gina Lamonte says the group's conservation department was looking for a program within the community to donate to. "We went to the City's website and found the Tree Planting Partnership and thought it was the perfect program for the club. It was something we could do with the City."
The Roswell Junior Woman's Club will use a portion of the money it raised from the annual arts festival held each May at the Town Square.
Roswell began the Tree Planting Partnership program five years ago to provide matching funds for projects that increase the City's tree canopy and density. To date the City has spent $68,000 through the program.
Those interested in joining the Roswell Junior Woman's Club can do so by visiting their website at www.roswelljuniors.org or by calling Nicole Reese at 770-485-1425 or Kelly Meer at 770-552-2596.
