The Department of Public Works/Water Services Division will conduct a public meeting on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 7 p.m. to introduce a project to the community: the Riverside/Dogwood Road Water System Improvements Project. The public meeting will be held in the Cafeteria at Centennial High School, 9310 Scott Road, Roswell, Georgia.
The water system improvement project includes the replacement of 14,000 feet of water main along sections of Riverside Road, Dogwood Road, and Old Dogwood Road. Portions will extend along Old Holcomb Bridge Road and Azalea Drive. New 8-inch to 24-inch ductile iron pipe will be installed to improve pressure, flows and reliability to the area.
The new water main will provide a standby connection to the city of Atlanta’s 48-inch water main to provide a secondary source of supply in case of an emergency. This project will cost approximately $4 million and will take about 12 months to complete, beginning August 2006.
