The other day I lost a good friend of mine, He put an end to his life and left the world behind, he said, “I can’t deal with these problems no more, And my head ain’t felt right since I was 24.” His friend said, “man you must be outside your mind, You’re 26 years old, it’s just a matter of time, And if it’s that girl, there’s plenty of fish in the sea, And besides you’ve got a lot of good friends just like me.” But it wasn’t enough, he went and threw it all away, And now I won’t see him again until my judgement day, And that’s a shame, that’s a crime, He never had a chance to shine and that’s life taken long before its time. and that’s life taken long before its time. The very next day we lost another good man, He had the prime of his life in the palm of his hand, He’s walking along, he slips and falls and hits his head. 21 years old and they pronounced him dead, And that’s a damn shame, cause he left a lot of good friends, And although they’ll all see him again in the end, its not the same, Its just a crime, we only have fate to blame, And that’s life taken long before its time. So raise a glass to those who’ve passed, And remember you’ll meet them again soon, so make your life last. Treat those around you with love and respect, Cause you never know when you’ll cash your final paycheck.
