Those seeking a gratifying volunteer opportunity making a difference in the lives of others are encouraged to consider becoming a Meals on Wheels volunteer. The Forsyth County Senior Center is in urgent need of volunteers to take meals to elderly, homebound citizens of Forsyth County.

The Forsyth County Senior Center is one of only five certified Meals on Wheels Association of America providers in the state of Georgia. A vital requirement of a successful Meals on Wheels program is a dedicated group of volunteers to deliver meals to clients. Forsyth County’s program currently has a pool of approximately 85 volunteers monthly. Meals on Wheels volunteers repeatedly note how rewarding the experience is.

The meals are sent out from the Senior Center, located at 595 Dahlonega Highway, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

If you are interested in volunteering two to three hours of your time to this important program, please call the Forsyth County Senior Center at 770.781.2178.
