Women's Automotive Connection Helps Educate Women on Automotive Issues

If you’re a woman and have ever felt like tearing your hair out when dealing with automotive service, repair, or sales, you know exactly whom The Women’s Automotive Connection, Inc. aims to please.  The company’s goal is to provide women with a one-call liaison to eliminate the aggravation often experienced in the automotive industry.

The Women’s Automotive Connection, Inc. (WAC) is a new company formed by women and dedicated to assisting ladies with automotive issues.  The founder, Gail Dunn, retired from the automotive industry at the end of 2007, and set out to provide this new and unique service for women.   She recognized the disdain that women often dealt with in the industry and with her connections, felt she could streamline the process and educate ladies on how to handle their own issues by recommending fair and responsible vendors.  As the manager of the collision center at a local dealership in the area, Gail learned more about autos than most men know.

On a fateful Sunday afternoon, Gail’s 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee would not start.  After investigating, she found that there was no fuel getting to the rails in the engine.  The obvious answer was that the fuel pump was not working properly.  Gail had it towed to the service department of the dealership, and told the Service Manager to install a new fuel pump.  Later in the day, the Service Manager brought the vehicle back and said that since they got it started, they decided it just needed a relay.  The car ran for two days, but on the following Wednesday evening would not start again.   This time Gail had it towed to the collision center where she worked.  She went to the parts department and bought the pump and then had a service technician install it for $40 as a side job.  The Service Manager’s excuse was that he was trying to save money, but instead had caused another towing charge.   The outcome was that Service would have charged about $750 for the installation, but when they dropped the ball, Gail had it done for under $300.  For Gail, this became her perfect example of men not listening to what women need.  Given the opportunity, there are many more of these types of stories that Gail can quote.

The Women’s Automotive Connection has helped many women, and men in their quest for fair and affordable repairs.  The company’s connections include many shops in the North Atlanta area.  These shops are fully vetted before they can become part of WAC’s network.  The company insures that the affiliated shops will do the work necessary at the proper price and within the time allotted.  A fee of $35 for initial intake of the problem is for assessing the needs of the customer.  If WAC can advise from that first contact, there is no need for any additional charge.  Most of its clients just need guidance on where to go and what to ask for when getting their cars repaired.  With that in mind, WAC is putting together seminars that will educate ladies on these issues.

So when you need honest, expert advice on where and how to get the best service, collision repair, or buying a vehicle, WAC can do the legwork for you and get your problem solved quickly and more cost effectively than you ever imagined.  Please check out The Women’s Automotive Connection website @ www.womensautomotiveconnection.com  for tips, advice, and FAQs or call 770-722-5211.  Gail and her team will be happy to help with your dilemma
