Joseph Haydn wrote many mass settings, but the Lord Nelson Mass is recognized as being one of his greatest compositions. The highly dramatic music of this masterpiece will be further heightened by an accounting through brief narratives and visuals of how Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson, the namesake of this mass setting, saved the Western World from the onslaught of Napoleon Bonaparte.
