The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously voted to approve a resolution in support of the 2006 Forsyth County Schools SPLOST Referendum at their monthly meeting today. Paula Gault, Superintendent of Forsyth County Schools, by request gave a presentation to the Board on the history of capital needs in the school system and past Bond and SPLOST measures. She concluded with an overview of how the money that will be raised if the referendum is passed on the Nov. 7 ballot will be used.
“The Chamber and the school system have a long and mutually beneficial partnership,” said Pam Sessions, Board of Directors Chair. “A strong public school system is an important tool for us in our economic development efforts and we believe in the need to keep our students on the cutting edge so they are prepared as the workforce of tomorrow. The unanimous vote today shows the Chamber’s continuing commitment to supporting the Forsyth County School system in these efforts.”
