The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners has announced the names of two finalists for the position of county manager, Mr. Sammy H. Rich and Mr. Ron H. Rabun.
Responsibilities of County Manager Position:
Provides leadership for the Forsyth County Government by working with the Board of Commissioners and other management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies; direct supervision of the county's administrative offices and senior management; oversees county programs/activities; interprets county goals/policies, ensures that county administration and senior management are making decisions consistent with the Board of Commissioners’ planning and policy initiatives.
Experience Summary of Finalists:
Sammy H. Rich currently serves as Assistant County Manager for Floyd County Government in Rome, Georgia. The majority of his professional experience has been spent in both local and state government acquiring a comprehensive knowledge of governmental operations, strategies and management. Rich has a Master’s Degree from the University of West Georgia in Public Administration.
Ron H. Rabun currently serves as County Administrator for Oconee County Government in Walhalla, South Carolina. Rabun’s experience has focused on progressive managerial responsibilities within city and county municipalities of various state agencies. His educational background includes a Masters Degree from the University of Georgia in Public Administration.
Recruiting Process:
Approximately 23 applications, meeting minimum qualifications, were reviewed for consideration. Seven candidates were selected to participate in the interview process.
