The Forsyth County Democratic Party announced today that they will be contributing $500 to the Silver City media center as a part of the “Buy a Book” drive the party kicked off in August. In what will become an annual drive, the local Democrats have selected a new school and have targeted a cash grant to that schools media center.

“Forsyth County Democrats understand the incredible challenges new schools face when they open. One challenge in particular, ramping up the media center with books is particularly tough given the SAC accreditation requirements after 3 years.” said Jon Flack, Chairman of the Forsyth County Democratic Party.

Flack went on to say, “Our cash grant represents a drop in the bucket, but we have started small and plan to end big. We intend to do this every year, and with West High coming online next year, the continuing challenges for our school system will only grow. We view this as a positive way to create awareness to the challenges new schools face, and to kick in a few buckets to support them.”
