The City of Cumming and Forsyth County will transform into a magical winter wonderland on Saturday, December 2, 2006, beginning at 3:30 p.m., when the Cumming/Forsyth County Christmas Parade rolls along Market Place Boulevard, complete with high school marching bands, colorful and holiday-themed floats and a visit from Santa Claus himself.
Presented by the City of Cumming and Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce, this event will attract families from all over Forsyth County as they usher in the 2006 holiday season and celebrate with special promotions from Forsyth-based retailers.
The parade route begins at Market Place Boulevard and Buford Dam Road and will flow along Market Place Boulevard, crossing Highway 20 and continuing down Northside Hospital-Forsyth Drive as the caravan culminates at Northside Hospital-Forsyth (1200 Northside Forsyth Drive, Cumming) just in time to celebrate the annual holiday tree lighting event, Celebration of Lights, benefiting the cancer program at Northside Hospital. Refreshments, entertainment and the tree lighting will immediately follow the parade, rounding out Cumming/Forsyth County’s refreshed holiday celebration.
Everyone in Cumming, Forsyth and surrounding counties are cordially invited to join in the festivities at the Cumming-Forsyth County Christmas Parade. Businesses, students, city and county dignitaries, and individuals from around Forsyth County will be participating in this festive holiday event.
Thousands of spectators are expected to line Market Place Boulevard in Cumming, from Buford Dam Road to Northside Hospital-Forsyth, as the array of colorful floats glide past and caravan to the Hospital, where the annual tree lighting event will round out the evening’s festivities.
The event is free to all attendees.
