Ingles Supermarkets has notified its customers that their bagged and head lettuce does not come from the affected farm in California which has had the recent recall. Ingles dietitian, Leah McGrath noted, “….we do not use the FOXY brand of lettuce which is the one that was recalled. We sell Tanimura and Antle head lettuce and bagged lettuce.”

McGrath also commented, “It is unfortunate that we have seen some problems lately with produce like the spinach and now the lettuce. Overall I hope people remember that there are still lots of options out there in the produce department and that fruits and vegetables provide us with many health benefits.”

McGrath recommended that customers wash fresh produce before eating it and to follow safe food handling techniques which include hand washing before preparing and eating food.
