James Michael Lord, age 56, of Dawsonville died Monday January 25, 2010.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Cumming with Rev. Monroe Gunter, Rev. Johnny Purcell and chaplain Keith Lee officiating and burial in Green Lawn Cemetery with Police Honors.

Mike was a long time member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Johns Creek, Retired from General Motors after 20 years of service and previously worked for Roswell and Alpharetta Police departments then became Deputy Sheriff with Forsyth County for the past 9 years, he was an Air Force Veteran and loved riding motorcycles for pleasure and helping raise money for charity.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jason Michael Lord and Amber Lord and granddaughter Addison Lord of Dawsonville; parents, Marvin and Grace Lord of Cumming; Jason’s mother Georgann Lord of Alpharetta and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

The family will receive friend Wednesday from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming.
