John Patrick “Pat” Gaines, 54, of Sugar Hill, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, after an extended battle with cancer. Pat worked as a Superintendent for the Wade Coots Company for many years. Pat loved the North Georgia mountains and fishing with his son, father, family and friends. Pat is survived by his wife of 16 years, Wanda Gaines; one son, Justin Gaines; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Q.P. Gaines of Montgomery, Alabama; one sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Clay Towery of Plano, Texas; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Pat was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend to all. He will be greatly missed until the time we meet again in heaven. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, at 11:00 am at Ingram Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Gaines officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The pallbearers will be Wade Coots, Greg Coots, Craig Sheppard, Keith Elliott, Eddy Turner, Clay Towery, Billy Turner and Andy Joiner. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday, December 27, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
