Mr. Robert "Bob" Lenk, age 71 of Cumming, GA passed away Friday, December 18, 2009 after a long battle with esophageal cancer. A Charter Life Member of the AMA, Lenk began riding as a youngster in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. He worked in motorcycle dealerships in Tennessee and Florida after graduating from high school in 1956. In 1971, he was hired as the first advertising salesman for the newly launched Cycle News Dixie, a regional bi-weekly publication that was based in Decatur, Georgia. After leaving Cycle News several years later, Lenk worked for the AMA as an advertising salesman, leaving that organization in the 1980s to enter the television business as a self-trained camera operator. He formed Missing Lenk Video and freelanced, mainly in motorcycling, right up until recently. Survivors include his wife, Linda Lomax Lenk of Cumming; son, Robert Lenk Jr. of Cedar Hill, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Marty Hix of Gordonsville, TN; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Jack Lenk of San Francisco, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
