This fall, Forsyth County Schools will have a new opportunity available to enhance the learning experience in the classroom and bring in extra cash as well.  When school computers are switched back on in Forsyth County’s 35 schools, Qwizzy’s World, a one-of-a-kind online study site, will be an option for teachers and students to utilize when their respective schools agree to participate in an initiative called QW Campaign: Where Studying Funds Education

Through a new business partnership with the Forsyth County School System, Cumming-based Qwizzy’s World will introduce this unique campaign during Open Houses and Curriculum Nights as an alternative and turnkey way for each school to earn money throughout the school year, while helping students learn.

“Having two children in the Forsyth County School System, I am particularly honored to see Qwizzy’s World introduced by our local educators and embraced by Dr. Evans, Forsyth County’s Superintendent,” comments Qwizzy’s World founder and Cumming resident, Julie Wilson.  “I believe our campaign will be well received by school administrators, teachers and parents.  It fully supports education in our schools and enhances the educational experience by providing a hands-on learning option, while putting money back into each participating school with very minimal effort on the school’s part,” she continues.

Administrators and teachers agree that the beauty of the concept of QW is in the learning.  Differing from other sites that supply pre-made quizzes, QW was designed to teach students how to study, not just what to study.  Using QW is easy – allowing students to use their creative juices.  Students who establish an account log on and create their own practice tests using study materials from class.  The quiz crafting is deliberately left to the students, parents, and teachers so that quizzes can be designed to correlate exactly with what is being taught in the classroom.

‘Qwizzy’ randomizes questions so that quizzes are challenging and exciting, and several quiz formats are available, including multiple choice, matching, true/false, fill-in-the-blank and open-ended.  Members can even combine a series of quizzes and create an ‘Ultimate Quiz,’ which is perfect for studying for cumulative tests like mid-term or final exams.  All quizzes are stored for continual practice and also can be used  when brush-ups are necessary, like spring, winter and summer break.

Participation in the QW School Campaign is hassle-free and turnkey.  Each time a student signs up for Qwizzy’s World, his/her respective school will receive a guaranteed dollar amount from each enrollment.  And students who sign up via the school campaign receive a 20% cost savings on a one-year membership.  Memberships are good for an entire year.

Teachers in participating schools receive a lifetime membership to Qwizzy’s World for free, as well as a one-year membership for their classrooms.  Virtually the only requirement for participating schools is promotion of the campaign to their student body via Open House and/or Curriculum Night, and/or through the use of typical communications (i.e. weekly folders, fliers, web site, announcements) to encourage student enrollment into the program.

“I can’t think of an easier way for a school to make money, and that was one of our goals when designing this unique ‘support and educate’ campaign.  We love that it provides a win-win opportunity for both the schools and the students, and hopefully, parents will like the fact that their students will personally benefit as well,” says Wilson.

Wilson is thrilled about the support Qwizzy’s World and the QW School Campaign has received from the Forsyth County Superintendent.  “I like the ‘critical thinking’ aspect of Qwizzy’s World and am pleased that the site will be available for all of our schools and students to utilize this fall in Forsyth County,” explains L.C. (Buster) Evans, Ed.D., Superintendent, Forsyth County Schools.

"I would love to work with the Dawson County school system as well, and I welcome queries from school administrators, teachers and parents interested in learning more about the program," says Wilson.

In addition to the Forsyth County School System, Qwizzy’s World is also being evaluated by other counties in the Atlanta area.  In Texas, where QW’s design and programming team reside, public and private schools, as well as the first charter school, will all have access to the QW School Campaign this fall.  Wilson is also excited about expanding the campaign to schools in Michigan, her home state.
