The Georgia Department of Transportation is still working at the intersection of SR 369/Browns Bridge Road and Shady Grove Road.
The new signal for the intersection of SR 369 and Shady Grove Road will go into flash or test mode this afternoon. If testing goes well, the new signal will become operational Thursday, August 27.
“Today we are opening the new Shady Grove Road intersection with SR 369. Shady Grove used to intersect with SR 369 at a 45 degree angle. Part of the reason for this project, was to realign Shady Grove so that it intersects the State Route at a 90 degree angle. This will improve sight distance, allowing drivers to easily see oncoming traffic on the state route. This new intersection is open to traffic now. Mid-afternoon, the traffic signal will be put into test mode. Please slow down through the work zone as everyone gets accustomed to these changes,” said Russell McMurry, DOT District Engineer.
Georgia DOT urges travelers to call 511 for updated information about this or any other construction project on interstates and state routes. Georgia 511 is a free phone service that provides real-time traffic and travel information statewide, such as traffic conditions, incidents, lane closures, and delays due to inclement weather. Callers also can transfer to operators to request assistance or report incidents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. More information is available atwww.511ga.org
