Lanier Technical College will hold its GED Graduation Ceremony this Friday night, August 21 at 7:00 at Free Chapel in Gainesville. The keynote speaker will be US Congressman Nathan Deal.
This is the first year that Lanier Tech has combined GED graduation ceremonies for the seven counties served by Lanier Technical College's Adult Education division. 788 students received GED diplomas this year in the seven counties. This level of GED training and testing services would not be possible without the support of Certified Literate Community Programs and Literacy Councils in all seven counties. These organizations provide scholarships, volunteers, and other support for GED and Adult Education services in Northeast Georgia.
GED preparation and testing has become a major priority in Georgia as the college tries to increase graduation rates and improve the lives of so many Georgians through GED testing as well as post-secondary occupational training.
