Amicalola Falls invites all to come celebrate a July Jamboree on July 3, 2 p.m. till 8 p.m., July 4, 10 a.m. till 8 p.m., and July 5, 10 a.m. till 5 p.m., at Amicalola Falls State Park in Dawsonville. 

This festive Fourth of July event features a live concert with Buck and Nelson, campfires, crafts, relay races, a watermelon seed-spitting contest and nature programs (including the birds of prey) head up this long weekend’s activities at Amicalola Falls State Park.  Between programs you can hike the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi, picnic, eat at the Maple Leaf Restaurant, fish at the Reflection Pond or visit displays at the Visitor Center.
 

The cost is a $5.00 parking fee per day.

FRIDAY, July 3rd

2:00 P.M. -- SO GALLANTLY STREAMING… Brave souls are encouraged to wade the creek in search of harmless critters that can tell us a lot about their environment. Wading shoes a must! Meet at the Visitor Center

4:00 P.M. -- PATRIOTIC PIN CRAFT… Wear your hand-painted craft with pride this weekend!  Meet at the Visitor Center

7:00 P.M. -- STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER CAMPFIRE… Join rangers for an evening under the stars and play a slightly different version of “Capture the Flag”.  Roast marshmallows while listening to star stories!  Meet at Upper Amphitheater

SATURDAY, JULY 4TH

10:00 A.M. -- JULY 4th RELAY RACES … Fun for the whole family as we challenge your athletic abilities!  Dizzy Lizzy, Sack Races, water races and more!  Prizes!  Meet at Visitor Center

1:00 P.M. -- RED, WHITE, and WHOOOOOO?  The Amicalola Owls join us for this crowd-pleasing program.  Meet at the Lodge Lobby

4:00 P.M. -- WATERMELON SEED-SPITTING CONTEST… enjoy a chunk of watermelon… but save three seeds to compete in this annual event.  Adult and Child competitions.  PRIZES! Meet at Visitor Center

7:00 P.M. -- BUCK AND NELSON LIVE CONCERT The Independence Day grand finale, enjoy live music at the Upper Amphitheater   NOTE: All programming is FREE; however we’ll “Pass the Hat” for these fine performers after the concert.

SUNDAY, July 5th

10:00 A.M. -- OH SAY CAN YOU SEED … MOSAIC?  Nature will provide the medium, if you provide the creativity!  Meet at Visitor Center

1:00 P.M.-- LET FREEDOM… WING?  Live Birds of Prey ask for liberty and justice for all! Meet at Lodge Lobby

4:00 P.M. -- FIRE WORKS!  Learn how to start a fire without matches! Meet at the Visitor Center
