Dawson County Parks and Recreation is proud to report two football teams will represent Dawson County this weekend in the North Georgia Youth Football Association (NGYFA) Super Bowl.

The six- and ten-year old Tigers each won the South Division Championships this past Saturday at Chestatee High School to earn a place in the championship games.

The Super Bowl Championship games will be played at Union County High School Saturday, November 14th. Both teams will face a tough opponent in Rabun County. The six- year olds play at 9am and the ten-year olds at 3pm.

“Our six-year olds were stellar this past Saturday against a tough Towns County team,” said Park Director Lisa Henson. “The boys executed like a group of twelve-year olds. Their offense was effective and their defense withstood everything Towns County could throw at them. If they play like this in the Super Bowl, I’m confident to say they will win it all. They are a well-coached team and fundamentally sound.”

Henson said, “Our ten-year old boys also showed up and showed out. They beat a tough Chestatee defense on Saturday. Our offense was too much for the War Eagles and our defense only gave up two first downs the entire game. The coaching staff put together a great game plan and the boys executed on the field.”

DCPR invites everyone out to watch two great matchups on Saturday and are calling for a blackout from the Dawson County fans. Show your support for the Tigers by wearing black to the games.

The six-year old Tigers will be playing for Dawson County’s first ever Super Bowl victory in this age group and the ten-year old Tigers will be playing for their fifth consecutive championship. Both teams have an opportunity to accomplish something never before seen in Dawson County history.

Be there for this history making event. Remember, it’s a blackout.
