Dawson County United Soccer Club Launches Academy Soccer Program

Dawson County United (DCU) Soccer Club is expanding their menu of affordably priced, advanced youth soccer training offerings. When Dawson County United Soccer Club took over the County's soccer program in 2008, the plan was to bring in a higher level of training without increasing the family-friendly prices established by the local parks and recreation department.

For the 2009-2010 seasons, DCU has officially launched its Academy Soccer Program. This program provides Dawsonville, North Forsyth County, and Lumpkin County youth soccer players the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level at a discounted price that makes it accessible to the entire community.

In an interview with Atlanta Soccer News, DCU President Anton Sieber elaborated: "Our club's mission is to provide high level training at affordable, family prices so children in our North Georgia community have an equal opportunity to experience and learn to love the beautiful game. To be able to pull that off, you have to surround yourself with people that are focused on the community and the mission of the club. I think we've done a good job of that and we plan to press forward offering our North Georgia community a higher level of Academy and recreational soccer training at prices that don't lock families out. Our policy is definitely one of inclusion, rather than exclusion."

In 2008, DCU initiated new youth soccer programs that were the first of their kind in Dawson County. These programs included skill training for parks and recreation players taught by state certified soccer trainers, as well as, advanced technical training for rec players looking to take their game to the next level. Expanding into Academy soccer training was the natural next step in the club's development. However, offering these programs at discounted fees is a challenge, even with the involvement of volunteers in the North Georgia soccer community.

To spearhead the academy program, DCU is looking for a corporate sponsor to help with the equipment costs that come with running and managing a top-level program. The primary corporate sponsor will have their company's logo displayed front and center on all of the DCU player's jerseys throughout the league. In addition, they will also benefit from DCU's multiple marketing mass-emails to it's North Georgia soccer support base throughout the year. Plus, they will also have the opportunity to distribute marketing materials and have representatives present at the fields on game days. DCU is looking for a primary corporate sponsor that shares their sense of community responsibly and passion for improving North Georgia youth soccer.
