Sen. Chip Pearson (R-Dawsonville) welcomed Miss United States Erin Grizzle, an Ellijay native, to the State Capitol on Tuesday to present her with a resolution recognizing her achievements.
“Miss Grizzle has displayed amazing poise and grace in representing Georgia as Miss United States,” said Sen. Pearson. “I’m confident that winning this coveted title and her successful career in pageantry will be just the beginning of her noteworthy accomplishments. Throughout her career in pageantry, Miss Grizzle has been dedicated to helping educate youth in the community. Her commitment to mentoring inspires us all to do more to help those in need.”
As a youth mentor for nine years, Ms. Grizzle has worked diligently to serve her community. Throughout her year as Miss United States, she will continue to support her platform, Youth Mentoring: Empowering America’s Future. She won the Miss United States title in Las Vegas last July.
Active in local politics, Ms. Grizzle worked on Sen. Pearson’s campaign for the Georgia Senate in 2004. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and her master’s from the Georgia Institute of Technology in business administration. She is the daughter of Jackie and Susan Grizzle of Ellijay, and the granddaughter of Aline Tatum of Dawsonville.
