Family-Placed Death Notice VICKERY, Benny Ray Mr. Benny Ray Vickery, age 72, of Argonne Court, Villa Rica, GA., passed away Sunday, October 4, 2009. He was born February 4, 1937 in Elbert County, GA., the son of Bennie C. Vickery and the late Frances Terrell Vickery. Mr. Vickery retired from Delta Airlines with over 34 years of service and was formerly in the National Guard. He also was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Vickery. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Vickery; daughter and son in law, Renee & Garry Cox of Powder Springs; sister, Robbie Jo Saxon; 2 grandchildren, Lauren Cox and Alyssa Cox; father, Bennie C. Vickery; sister, Robbie Jo Saxon; brother, Jimmy Vickery all of Elberton. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 3PM from Tabernacle Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Gentry, Dr. Howard Cobble and Rev. Charles Cox officiating. The body will be placed at the church at 2PM and the family will be there to receive friends from 2PM until the funeral hour. Music will be provided by Frank Shoppe and Betty Sue Smith. Pallbearers will be Bob Tucker, Houston Cole, Talmadge Ayers, Ray Brock, Ed Roberts and Lamar Ellison. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
