Billy R. Wills, 78, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, after a long illness. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry. Reverend Wayne Holcomb will officiate. Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P. O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950. Mr. Wills was born in Bartow County to the late Gideon and Gladys Abernathy Wills. He grew up in Cartersville, and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church there. After graduation, he entered the U. S. Army. He was stationed in Germany, served as a spotter in the artillery division, and was a driver for the officers during the Korean War. He became a Fireman at Lockheed-Martin for over 13 years. Mr. Wills then was a self-employed wholesaler, and later owned Wills Poultry Farm for many years. A kind and very giving man, he loved to go fishing and spend time with his family. His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of over 58 years, Geraldine Crowe Wills of Elko; his children, Nikki Thomas of Hawkinsville, Mark Wills (Lorri) of Cartersville, and Lori Howard (Mike) of Elko; seven grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; an aunt, Joyce Adams of Cartersville; and many cousins.
