Family-Placed Death Notice WHITE, Mark MARK FERRELL WHITE Mark Ferrell White, 59, was born Sept. 1, 1950 in Kinston, North Carolina and passed away Nov. 28, 2009 in Dunwoody, GA. His family moved to Atlanta in 1965 and he graduated from Gordon High School in Decatur in 1968. A big Atlanta Braves fan and season ticket holder, Mark always cherished his ticket stub from Hank Aaron's famous home run game. Mark was a stagehand at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for 10 years, including touring with the orchestra in Europe in 1989. Liz and Mark started the local parenting publication Atlanta Parent Magazine 26 years ago. Mark left the symphony to join his wife at the magazine as co-publisher / business manager. Mark led the local chapter of the Thyroid Cancer Support Group, helping others also diagnosed with thyroid cancer through meetings, information, his strength, and friendship. Mark leaves behind a loving family: his wife of 30 years, Liz of Dunwoody, daughter Laura, Decatur, his brothers, Dale White of Chapel Hill, NC and Clay White of Sandy Springs, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A funeral mass for Mark Ferrell White will be held Tuesday, December 1st at noon at All Saints Catholic Church, 2443 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Dunwoody, 30338. Interment will follow at Honey Creek Woodlands at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit, 2625 Hwy, 212 SW, Conyers, 30094.
