Toney September 1, 1932 - November 10, 2009 COLUMBUS, GA Rosa Lee Toney, 77, of 901 Joy Road Lot D22, Columbus, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, 1022 Adair Ave., with the Pastor Rev. Benjamin McGruder officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery according to Peoples Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc., 1604 Talbotton Road. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Toney was born September 1, 1932 in Cataula, GA daughter of the late Annie Simmons. She worked as a cook at Azalea Trace Nursing Home. Left to cherish her memories are her husband Alvin Toney; sons, Hubert C. (Bernice) Staples, Jr., Larry (Veronica) Brown, Sr., both of Columbus, Marvin (Betty) Brown, Gardenia, CA and Clarence (Tina) Brown, Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Annie (Darryl) Tolbert, Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a close cousin, Rozella Thomas; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
