Rubye Elizabeth "Lib" Lowe Young of Conyers, GA passed away December 11, 2009 at her home in Conyers. She was born October 11, 1921 in Atlanta, GA to Horace & Rubye Hammock Lowe. She was a homemaker and an active member of East Side Baptist Church in Stockbridge. Mrs. Young is survived by her husband of 70 years, Walter Lamar Young. Her surviving children are Horace & Vera Young of Mansfield, Warren & Sherry Young of Conyers, Jerry & Rita Young of Conyers, Jimmy & Nell Young of Conyers, Delores (Lolly) & Curley Buffington of Conyers, Forrest & Elaine Young of Madison, and Lawrence & Linda Young of Covington; 19 Grandchildren, 38 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; Surviving sisters Runelle Jackson, Joyce Sinyard, Harriette Houseworth and surviving brothers Tom Lowe and Joe Lowe; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Horace Lowe and mother, Rubye Hammock Lowe; her daughter, Carolyn Johnson, granddaughter, Trika Buffington Hart and great-grandson Tyler Morris; her sisters, Geraldine Plunkett, Janet Abbott and her brothers, Aaron Lowe, Stewart Lowe, Charlie Lowe and Bob Lowe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, December 14, 2009 at East Side Baptist Church in Stockbridge, with Rev. Bob Halstead officiating. Interment will be held at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers. The family will receive friends on Sunday 6-8pm at Horis Ward's Rockdale Chapel, 770-918-8851.
