Sonya Denise Uzzell, 46, of Nashville, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at her home. She was born June 9, 1963, in Conway County, Ark., do the late James Franklin Uzzell and the former Barbara Jean Butler. She was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force with 22 years of service. She participated in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. She was a member of the Yuba City, Calif., United Methodist Church.She is survived by her mother, Barbara Jean McFarland of Pembroke; a sister, Cherlyn Kaye (John) Boyer of Safety Harbor, Fla.; a niece, Savannah Marie Boyer; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.Memorials are requested to a church or charity of your choice or to Hospice of South Georgia.The family has honored her request for cremation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with full military honors. Lovein Funeral Home.
