Family-Placed Death Notice WHELESS, William, Jr., William Hugh (Bill) Wheless, Jr. July 3, 1957 - January 4, 2010 William Hugh (Bill) Wheless, Jr., 52, of Alpharetta, GA passed away on January 4, 2010 following a short but courageous battle with melanoma (skin cancer). Bill was born on July 3, 1957, in Thomaston, GA. A devoted husband, father, son, and brother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Lori, and loving sons, Justin and Kyle, all of Alpharetta; mother, Nina Belle Wheless, Thomaston, GA; sister, Debbie Tanju (Murat), Birmingham, AL; brother, Tim Wheless, Thomaston, GA; in-laws, Bob and Sue Cobb, Alpharetta; sister-in-law, Diane Barker (Kim Alan), Louisville, KY; brothers-in-law, Todd Cobb and Gregg Cobb (Betty-Jean), Louisville, KY, as well as many nieces and nephews, along with other family members and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Hugh Wheless, Sr. Bill graduated from Robert E. Lee Institute in Thomaston, GA and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in 1979 and then immediately passed all four parts of the Certified Public Accountant exam. After beginning his accounting career at Arthur Young & Company in Atlanta, he spent the last 25 years at Convergent Media Systems, the last 17 years as Chief Financial Officer. Well known for his high level of integrity and his competitive spirit and determination, Bill was a good man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Atlanta Hospice for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Roswell Funeral Home, with funeral services at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010, at North Point Community Church followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery with a reception at the Golf Club of Georgia following. The family is being served by Roswell Funeral home, Roswell, GA.
