At our store, we have a number of wines which we call "House Favorites", because year after year, they are among the best in quality, as well as value.  One of the best examples of our "House Favorites", is the 2008 Chateau Ste. Michelle Columbia Valley Chardonnay!  We have featured this wine over the last four vintages as one of our favorites, and the 2008 vintage may be the best so far!  The "Wine Spectator" gave this wine a 90 score with the following description:

"90 points - "Best Value" Wine Spectator - January 31, 2010.  Bright and jazzy, with pretty pineapple, grapefruit, elderflower and spice flavors that linger on the finish without excess weight.  This just floats on for a while."  Now I am not sure what elderflower is, but I am sure that this is a wonderful bottle of Chardonnay!  The fruit flavors swirl with big mouthfuls of pineapple, tropical fruit, and green apple. The finish is crisp and clean and continues into the next sip.  My score would have to be at least a 91.  

The Ste. Michelle Chardonnay would pair well with a host of foods from fowl, to shellfish, but we had a dinner last week that would knock your socks off!  We enjoyed shrimp over spinach linguine with garlic Alfredo sauce, served with avocado tossed salad and hot French bread, and of course the 2008 Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay!  I must have died, because I thought I was in heaven!
