ATLANTA — At the recent Earth Day Celebration at Georgia Tech, Dianne Bennett (left) joined Captain Planet (right) to start spreading the word about a few fun environmental programs the Captain Planet Foundation will sponsor at Enviro Expo USA, a green Expo and educational event to be held at the AmericasMart, on Nov. 14-15, 2009. Bennett and Captain Planet built up the excitement surrounding a video contest for Metro Atlanta Schools asking students to submit eco-friendly video PSAs answering the question “Did you know?”. In addition, the pair talked about the Enviro Expo USA Kids Zone that will offer several activities that have an environmental twist on some traditional games.
Based on the critically-acclaimed cartoon series, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, the Captain Planet Foundation (CPF) was founded in 1991 by Ted Turner. The mission of CPF is to support hands-on, environmental projects for children and youths in grades K-12. For more information, call 404-522-4270 or visit www.captainplanetfdn.org.
