President Barack Obama has tapped New York jurist Sonia Sotomayor to succeed Justice David Souter on the Supreme Court. If nominated, 54-year-old Sotomayor would be the nation's first Hispanic justice.
Obama Nominates Sotomayor
President Obama nominated federal appeals court Judge Sonia Sotomayor, 54, from the New York Court of Appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court. She is a Princeton University Summa Cum Laude graduate. (May 26)
