As you are aware, Georgia DOT crews and contractors are widening nearly 10 miles of the congested Georgia 400 roadway. This project includes the widening of the Georgia 400 southbound exit ramp to Holcomb Bridge Road as well as the replacement of asphalt along the Mansell Road exit and entrance ramps (north and southbound).
Crews will soon begin the replacement process on these exit and entrance ramps. The northbound exit and entrance ramps at Mansell will be temporarily closed beginning Friday, May 5 at 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, May 8 at 5:00 a.m. The GA 400 southbound ramps will be closed the following weekend, May 12-15 over the same time period.
The replacement of the asphalt with concrete is necessary due to general wear and tear. Concrete has improved durability and can withstand the large volume of traffic on GA 400. This portion of the project also includes improvements to the drainage system will which will positively impact motorist’s safety.
The Georgia Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe, seamless and sustainable transportation system that supports Georgia’s economy and is sensitive to both its citizens and its environment.
