On Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 1:30 – 3:00 pm (EST) the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a nationwide conference call to discuss the results of the Chamber's recently-conducted education survey entitled, Education Reform -- Insight into the Business Community's Views About the U.S. Education System.

Speaker: Arthur Rothkopf, Senior Vice President and Counselor to the President, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will be discussing the Chamber's survey as well as its focus for the reauthorization of the No Child Left Behind Act in the 110th Congress in 2007.
A total of 571 business organizations from around the country – including small businesses, chambers of commerce, and association/nonprofit groups – responded to an education survey sent out by the Chamber. Some highlights of their responses:
These findings strongly support the Chamber's efforts in conjunction with the business community to extend and strengthen the provisions of No Child Left Behind. The nation's education system must focus more strongly on improving curriculums, academic expectations, and performance measures to ensure students are prepared for college and the workforce.
