The Fulton County Board of Education has named new principals for Holcomb Bridge Middle School, Tri-Cities High School, and Summit Hill Elementary School.

Joy Schroerlucke – Holcomb Bridge Middle School
Joy Schroerlucke from Chattahoochee High School will lead Holcomb Bridge Middle School beginning June 1. She succeeds Emmett Shaffer, who is moving to the school system’s Administrative Center to become Director of Guidance and Counseling.
An educator for more than 33 years, Ms. Schroerlucke has been an assistant principal at Chattahoochee, Centennial, North Springs, and Roswell high schools, and previously was a middle school teacher. She holds degrees from Western Kentucky University (B.S., Science Education; M.Ed., Guidance Counseling) and has completed Educational Leadership certification from Georgia State University and doctoral coursework at Nova University.
Eldrick Horton –Tri-Cities High School
Dr. Eldrick Horton has been named principal of Tri-Cities High School. He officially will join Tri-Cities on July 1 after completing the school year at Frederick Douglass High School, where he is currently principal.
A veteran educator, Dr. Horton has worked in public and private education for more than 23 years. He has been an elementary school principal and a middle school teacher, and has worked in Atlanta Public Schools’ central administrative office as a professional development technology coordinator and an instructional technology specialist. He holds degrees from Morehouse College (B.A., Clinical Psychology), Atlanta University (M.A., Educational Psychology and Measurement), and The Fielding Institute (Ed.D., Educational Leadership and Change).
Nancy Murphy – Summit Hill Elementary School
The Board also approved Nancy Murphy from New Prospect Elementary School to become the new principal of Summit Hill Elementary School. She will replace Norris Gaynor, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
Ms. Murphy has been New Prospect’s assistant principal since 2002. Before New Prospect, she taught art education at Manning Oaks, Barnwell, and Mimosa elementary schools, and was an instructor at Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University. She holds degrees from the University of North Carolina (B.F.A., Art Education) and Georgia State University (M.Ed., Educational Leadership; certificate from the Aspiring Principals Institute).
