Students Will Attend Workshops on Improving Leadership Skills as Well as Other Important Skills

(Alpharetta, GA) – Ten students from the Fulton Science Academy Middle School are part of the 600 student leaders to attend the Leadership Experience and Development (LEAD) conference help March 17-19, 2006, in Atlanta, Georgia. The LEAD Conference is hosted by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), which sponsors the National Honor Society, The National Junior Honor Society, and the National Association of Student Councils. These ten students are; Shinjini Das, Morgan Kee, Kritika Subramanian, Aarth Thakore, Sam Reddy, Melissa Stewart, Reid Kersey, Ivana Perez, Devon Henderson, and Marissa Kogan. They are all National Junior Honor Society members.

These students will attend workshops on improving leadership skills, problem solving, student project planning, and student activity program development. In addition, these students will participate in special sessions presented by popular motivational speakers.

"The LEAD Conferences offer talented young people from across the country the opportunity to hone their leadership skills in order to make a difference in their schools and communities," said Dr. Gerald N. Tirozzi, executive director, NASSP.
