3rd Annual Keep Roswell Beautiful Golf Marathon Announced

Roswell, GA (August 14, 2006)–The Keep Roswell Beautiful (KRB) Board of Directors invites highly motivated individuals, who love golf, to participate in the third annual Play the Green to Save the Green Golf Marathon on Monday, August 28 at the Country Club of Roswell. Interested golfers are asked to collect at least $350 in sponsor donations, come out and enjoy a day of golf. Participants will be able to play as many holes as possible between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Beverages and lunch are provided by Eagle Rock Distributing and Advanced Disposal.

Ecological Solutions, a local Roswell business, is the title sponsor of the event, and in partnership with KRB, is sponsoring the third annual Golf Marathon to raise funds for continuing efforts to educate and involve the citizens of Roswell in the beautification, conservation and preservation of our environment. The Play the Green to Save the Green Golf Marathon will also help raise funds for the KRB signature project, the purchase of an Earth Balloon. The Earth Balloon is an interactive Social Studies/Environmental/Science K-12 teaching device used to help students of all ages understand our physical earth and environment.

KRB is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the citizens of Roswell on the issues of litter prevention, beautification, water quality and solid waste management. KRB accomplishes this through sponsoring events that encourage hands-on participation and by educating citizens to understand important environmental issues. KRB activities include: Great American Clean Up, Rivers Alive Clean Up, Adopt-A-Road, Adopt-A-Stream and Storm Drain Stenciling.
