For the first time ever, the PanCAN TeamHOPE Walk is coming to Atlanta!

Join the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) and TeamHOPE Atlanta at Piedmont Park on Saturday, September 23, 2006 to show your support for the more than 33,000 Americans who will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year.

Every 16 minutes another American is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Though it is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States, pancreatic cancer receives the least amount of federal research funding of any major cancer. In 2007, from monies raised across the country by local affiliates like TeamHOPE Atlanta, PanCAN will privately fund more than $700,000 in new pancreatic cancer research in an effort to discover early detection methods and improved treatment options.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will start at 10:00 a.m. You can participate by walking, organizing a walk team, supporting a walker, or sponsoring the event. Pre-registration by Sept 19th, 2006 is $20 and will include an event t-shirt. Day-of registration is $25 and t-shirts will be available while supplies last.
