Glenn Beck, a new topical talk show featuring radio personality Glenn Beck, will premiere on Headline News on Monday, May 8, at 7 p.m. (ET), it was announced today by Ken Jautz, executive vice president, CNN Worldwide. In a first for Headline News, the show will air seven days at a week at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., with encore presentations of weekday shows on Saturdays and Sundays.

Glenn Beck will be an unconventional look at the news of the day featuring Beck’s unique and often amusing perspective on top stories from world events and politics to pop culture and everyday hassles. Segments will include “Beck’s Notes,” a tongue-in-cheek overview of a story making news; “Real America,” which tells the stories of ordinary Americans overcoming extraordinary obstacles; “Ask Glenn,” in which Glenn dispenses “advice” to e-mailers on a range of topics; and the “Quality of Life Index,” a stock market-like segment on how the newsmakers of the day affect Americans’ quality of life.

The show will include in-studio guests, man-on-the-street interviews, reports from special contributors and Beck’s perspectives on the pop culture headlines of the day.

“Glenn’s style of talk is incredibly engaging, and his no-nonsense approach is one we’re confident will connect with our audience,” Jautz said. “This show is the perfect next step in the evolution of the Headline Prime line-up, which has continued to build strength since our revamp last year. Glenn is a great addition to our schedule, and we look forward to showcasing his distinctive take on the issues that are on people’s minds.”

As of Monday, May 8, the Headline Prime line-up will kick off with Prime News hosted by Erica Hill at 6 p.m.; Glenn Beck at 7 p.m. and Nancy Grace at 8 p.m.; re-airings of both Glenn Beck and Nancy Grace at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. The Headline Prime schedule closes with its flagship entertainment show, Showbiz Tonight, hosted by A.J. Hammer, at 11 p.m., followed by Glenn Beck at 12 a.m., Nancy Grace at 1 a.m. Headline News then returns to its traditional half-hour news format at 2 a.m. All times Eastern.

Conway Cliff has been named executive producer of Glenn Beck. Cliff has launched and overseen various shows at CNN since 1998. Most recently Cliff served as senior executive producer and a senior member of the unit charged with helping create and produce new prime-time programming concepts.
