ATLANTA (July 28, 2006). A world of International Jazz sounds will be imported to Villa Christina on Sunday, August 27th, when Rua 6 takes the stage at the Summer Jazz Series. This band’s fiery sound will spice up your sultry summer night with their wildly varied influences and energetic rhythms. Effortlessly blending Latin, Spanish, Caribbean, and African accents, Rua 6 will keep the audience doing the cha-cha, mambo, and samba all evening to their “world music with a strong Brazilian accent”.
On Sunday, August 27th, the audience at Villa Christina will be treated to the “world groove” music that has become Rua 6’s trademark. Band members hailing from Brazil, Panama, and the Southern United States have successfully composed a stunning blend of international sounds which is amazing fun to watch performed live and is thoroughly addictive. Music and rhythms from Brazil, Zaire, Senegal, Morocco, the Caribbean and Spain are prominently featured during the dynamic live shows of Rua 6. Band members play an eclectic array of instruments, including special percussion instruments such as the tambora, conga, timbales and bongos. Sample the array of spicy musical flavors put into force by members of this prodigious Latin-jazz band as they enchant the crowd at Villa Christina on August 27, 2006. WHAT: The Summer Jazz Series at Villa Christina.Mark your calendar to join us for Free smooth jazz concerts all summer long in Villa Christina’s opulent rose gardens situated among cascading waterfalls and cool streams. Doors open at 4:00 p.m.; music begins at 5:30 p.m., and lasts until approximately 7:30 p.m. Families are welcome and are encouraged to bring blankets for seating.
