Roswell, GA (August 22, 2006)-The fourth annual Harvest Moon Celebration will be held in the pavilion of Archibald Smith Plantation Home in Historic Roswell on Saturday, September 23 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This event is a fundraiser for the Archibald Smith Plantation Home Preservationists, Inc and will include a silent auction.
A wine-tasting will be held in the pavilion, followed by an evening of music and dancing. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served. Old fashioned photos will be offered, complete with period costumes.
Admission is $50.00 per person with prior reservation and $55.00 after September 16. Advance reservations are required by September 16 and can be made at the Smith office, at 770.641.3978.
Smith Plantation is an original 1840’s plantation site built by Archibald Smith, one of Roswell’s founding fathers, featuring original family furnishings and twelve original outbuildings. It is owned by the City of Roswell and operated with support from the Archibald Smith Plantation Home Preservationists, Inc. Smith Plantation is located in historic Roswell at 935 Alpharetta Street, adjacent to the Roswell Municipal complex with parking available at the Cultural Arts Center or City Hall.
