Generation Green Hike
Rabun County, GA
Saturday, March 18, 2006
11:00am - 8:30pm
Located on 14,000 acres of nationally protected land in Northwest Georgia, Rabun Bald is the second-highest mountain in the state. The watchtower atop its peak offers a spectacular 360-degree view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The hike, which is a 4-mile round-trip, will take us in and out of a pine forest on our way up the mountain. Please note that this is a rewarding, but very strenuous hike!
After our trip up and down the peak, we will enjoy the Southern hospitality and cuisine of the Dillard House, a historic restaurant known for its all-you-can-eat meals and farm fresh food. This is extra and will cost about $22.
Those wishing to carpool will meet in Atlanta at 11am for the two-hour ride to Rabun Bald. The hike will last approximately three hours, after which the feeding frenzy will begin at the Dillard House around 5 pm. We should be back in Atlanta around 8:30 - giving you time to go home, shower, and go out! Further details will be provided upon registration.
