    • Memorial Day Service at City Hall.
    • Mixed-use development in Roswell.
    • Roswell’s advertisement in the Roswell Neighbor thanking residents for the City’s ranking as the 3rd best place to raise your family in the United States.
    • Bus shelters.
    • Midtown redevelopment on SR 9.
    • Sidewalks on SR 9 south of Highway 120.
    • Spring Street & Highway 120 rezoning request.

· Roswell’s Transportation Master Plan.

· Mixed Use Development in Roswell.

· Ordinance enforcement pertaining to the removal of trees and the size of business signage.

· Thanked the Transportation Department for fixing a pothole.

· New dealership on SR 9 and billboard on the property.

· Sidewalks in Roswell.

· The City has been meeting with MARTA concerning bus shelters in Roswell.

· City Council members have been meeting with Charlie Brown about mixed use development off Ga. 400.

· Midtown redevelopment project is moving forward.

· Money for midtown redevelopment.

· Vacant buildings in Roswell.

· MARTA bus shelters.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned for the Work Session at 8:20 p.m.

Work Session of Mayor and Council, Wednesday, May 31, 2006

Council members present: Lori Henry, Kent Igleheart, Terry Joyner, Jerry Orlans, David Tolleson, and Paula Winiski.

The Work Session was called to order at 8:30 p.m.

Barrington Hall Master Plan

· The City’s consultant presented an overall plan for Barrington Hall.

· The different phases of the plan were discussed.

· Parking and pedestrian access were discussed.

· The Mayor directed that the master plan be taken back to the Recreation Committee and then forwarded to the Historic Preservation Committee for its input before coming back to Mayor and Council.

· Public comment heard.

 

Proposed FY07 Budget

· Deputy City Administrator Kay Love led the discussion.

· The Mayor’s changes to the budget were outlined.

· Budget Director Mike Erwin summarized the City’s capital projects breakdown.

· The City’s sidewalk connectivity project funding was discussed.

· Funding for a new financial system was discussed.

· The first public hearing for the proposed budget will be held June 5, 2006.

 

There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 10:30 p.m.
