The Fulton County Human Services Department, Office of Children and Youth will host its annual Reflections Banquet to honor the achievements of the 2005-2006 Fulton County Youth Commission. Family and friends of the Youth Commission are expected to attend, along with representatives from the offices of the Fulton County Board of Commission.
The Fulton County Youth Commission is a program of the Human Services Department that works diligently to impact policy, procedure and legislation as it relates to children, youth and families in Fulton County.
Sponsored by Commissioner Nancy A. Boxill, the Youth Commission commenced after the Board of Commissioners passed a resolution to implement the program, and has since been coordinated through the Human Services Department, Office of Children and Youth. The Youth Commission works diligently to impact youth and family related policies, procedures and legislation in Fulton County. Over the last nine months the Youth Commission has successfully coordinated Youth 411, (a televised teen talk forum that allows high school students to discuss issues affecting Fulton County youth) hosted Mock Board of Commissioners Regular and Recess Meetings, assisted with the development of a comprehensive youth employment website, and participated in community planning meetings and service initiatives around Fulton County.
