Governor Sonny Perdue qualified for re-election on Monday, April 24th, in the Senate Chamber of the State Capitol. After completing his candidate paperwork, Perdue was joined by several hundred sign-waving supporters in the Capitol Rotunda.
“This election year, Georgians will get to decide who they trust to speak for them. For over three years, you’ve entrusted me with that privilege. Today, by qualifying, I indicated that Mary and I are prepared to ask the people of Georgia for that awesome privilege once again,” said Perdue.
Governor Perdue said he is excited to kickoff his campaign and looks forward to traveling the state, sharing his record of accomplishment and vision for the future. The Governor singled out education and job creation as his top priorities. He also highlighted his efforts to protect private property owners from government abuse of eminent domain.
