The city of Roswell has hired several new staff people across the organization to fill empty positions in the Transportation Department, the Environmental Public Works Department and the Community Information Office.
Traffic Engineer Scott Cothron joins the Transportation Department after working as a traffic engineer for the city of Longview, TX and as a research engineer in Arlington, TX for the Texas Transportation Institute, a part of the Texas A&M University system. His experience in state and local government has exposed him to many innovative solutions for improving traffic. He is looking forward to applying that knowledge in Roswell. He is married with three children.
Water Operations Manager Michael Leonard comes on board following long-time Roswell employee Luke Wood’s retirement. Mr. Leonard has a wide array of experience in water utilities having worked as the General Manager/Chief Administrative Officer for the Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission for 14 years and through several high ranking positions within the United States Environmental Protection Agency for 15 years. He has 36 years of drinking water experience as a utility operator and manager, and federal regulatory and water consultant. He has served two terms as vice president for the American Water Works Association and is currently a candidate for president for the organization. He is married with two daughters, two step-sons and one step-daughter.
Benjamin Frye joins the city of Roswell as its Web Developer/Graphic Designer in the Community Information Office. Ben is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. He’s worked several years as a designer and IT specialist in the Metro-Atlanta area. He is married with one daughter.
Kimberly Johnson also joins the Community Information Office as its Community Information Coordinator. She comes to the city from Dalton, GA where she served as its public relations specialist. She is a graduate of the Kennesaw State University and is married with one son.
