The Fulton County Police Department will participate in the 23rd Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1, 2006.

Residents can stop by the parking lot at the Target store at 5950 State Bridge Road, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to get information about how they can help prevent crime and drugs in the North Fulton community.

Children attending the National Night Out event can get an up-close look at police vehicles and meet McGruff the Crime Dog.

The Fulton County Fire Department will also participate.

National Night Out is intended to help strengthen community partnerships with police and send a message to criminals that the community is organized against crime.

Organizers of National Night Out expect observances to occur in 10,000 communities throughout the United States, Canada, and on military bases around the globe. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association for Town Watch with the support of Target and the U.S. Department of Justice.

For more information about the North Fulton National Night Out Event, contact Officer Tascha Jenkins with the Fulton County Police North Special Services Division at 770-551-3478.

I look forward to seeing you there!
