Hands On Forsyth Could Use Your Hands

Looking for a way to help others in our area? If so, Hands on Forsyth could really use your help. There are several specific projects that this organization is charged with and is in need of volunteers for each:

Thursday, Sept. 29th

1. Central Park- # of people needed- 5-8 people (8 max)

Replanting Liberty Garden with Forsyth Co. Master Gardeners/Keep Forsyth Co. Beautiful

8:30am-Noon

Wear old clothes/hat and bring gloves and a small trowel

- Mulching, weeding, planting flowers and bulbs

(each person will work with a Master Gardener

We can only have 8 people max.

Friday, Sept. 30th

 

1. Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center- # of people needed- 15 to 20

9am- 5pm

Wear old clothes/hat and bring gloves and gardening tools if you have them/also need a screw gun (tool to screw shutters into side of house)

- Weed garden, spread mulch

- Place garden timbers in front of house, create new flower bed, and plant flowers

- Paint shutters and re-install on sides of windows

- Replace lattice work and gate on back porch

- Spray weeds, put down black irrigation fabric, spread gravel, and place RR ties

Saturday, Oct. 1st (tentative)

1. Big Brothers, Big Sisters- # of people needed- 3 to 4

Time is TBA

Wear old clothes, bring hammer if you have one, more supplies may be needed

- Build shelves

- Build child's table (tentative)

- build or put together bookcase

2. Abba House- # of people needed- 4 to 6

Early morning- probably 8:30 to 9am until late afternoon

Wear old clothes, bring hammer if you have one, more supplies may be needed

- Build a wooden platform, steps, and ramp in from of thrift store
