PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING
MATHIS AIRPORT ROAD WIDENING CHANGE IN DESIGN
5 PM - TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2005
County Administration Building
District 2 County Commissioner, Brian Tam has arranged an open informational meeting to be held this Tuesday on the Mathis Road Widening.
Brian Tam, the County Attorney, a representative with Dewey White Properties, a rep. with Beazer Homes (company purchasing property adjacent to the road), the County Engineer and others will be discussing with the community the changes that the county is considering for the Mathis Airport Road Widening.
The original plan for the road was widened to 4 lanes, running the current course of the road with a few modifications. The New plan contains an S curve design terminating in an alternate location onto Bagley Road just west of Hunters Run, closer to SR 141. Dewey White, the property owner, will be donating land for this venture.
Maps of the proposed changes will be available during the discussion.
Your input is essential. We all have questions as to why the county is considering this change. Why is Mr. White donating the land. What does he get in return. Who benefits? Who looses? What will this do to the adjacent property owners? Please come and ask questions, participate in the discussion and get the answers we all need.
Forward this email to all those in your community that would be interested in this public information meeting.
Thank you,
Eileen Henriksen
